The Oppenheimer Group has announced that Charlene Vettergreen has been promoted to the position of sales manager for the company's Calgary location, replacing Prentice Dent, who retired at the end of July.
In her new capacity, Ms Vettergreen will guide the marketer's sales strategies into the retail, wholesale and foodservice sectors in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Ms Vettergreen joined Oppenheimer in early 2009, bringing background from both inside and outside the industry, and has previously held positions at Sunkist Growers, Hershey Canada and Quaker Oats.
'Charlene is well-equipped to lead our sales in the Prairie provinces,' said Oppenheimer's western Canada sales manager Walt Breeden. 'She came to us with highly relevant skills, and then spent over a year gaining insight into Oppenheimer's products, services and customers alongside one of our most experienced sales managers, Prentice Dent. Her passion for the produce business and strategic sales ability will serve her well, and add value as we take care of our customers in the region.'
