Hong Kong-based shipping line OOCL will launch two new routes from Asia to the US West Coast to improve the Grand Alliance shipping service and replace an existing loop, reports The Journal of Commerce Online.
OOCL told the publication its new South China Sea Middle East Express Service (SCX) – starting on April 22, and its new Japan Express Service (JPX) - launching May 9, would replace its current South China Sea Japan Express Service.
SCX will operate with 11 6,200-TEU vessels to expand coverages between the Middle East, the Far East and the US West Coast, it said. JPX will operate with five 2,800-TEU vessels calling at ports between Japan and the US West Coast.
OOCL is part of the Grand Alliance shipping service with NYK Line and Hapag-Lloyd.
