Belgium-based topfruit marketer Enzafruit kicked off the New Zealand apple season yesterday with the first arrivals at the port of Antwerp.
The first vessel contained 4,500 pallets of Cox and Royal Gala apples, and some are suggesting that the quality may be the best for many years.
A second vessel is scheduled to arrive in Antwerp on 20 April, followed by a third containing Jazz and Braeburn apples in May.
