Nunhems, the vegetable seed arm of Bayer CropScience, invited 150 guests to its premises in Antalya to mark the tenth anniversary of its arrival in Turkey.
Representatives of producer groups and Turkey's agriculture ministry joined customers and employees for the event.
Süleyman Kenar, Nunhems' country manager for Turkey, told them: "We must take this market further by connecting the vegetable seeds sector with the trade and supply chain. It is necessary to adopt the principles of sustainable agriculture to build trust with consumers, ensure compliance with international standards, and choose the right product in order to be recognised in the local and international markets."
Ko Remijnse, the company's marketing and sales MD, made the trip to Turkey to explain the country's "strategic position" on the world market.
"The sector is getting more professional every day, and the seed sector and seed companies contribute to this development to a significant extent."
