This year's Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) annual convention drew record numbers to Vancouver, with some 3,300 people attending the three-day event.
Visitor numbers for the event, which took place on 12-14 May, climbed 25 per cent on the previous Vancouver-based CPMA convention in 2006, and were up 600 on last year's trade show in Toronto.
'The 2010 trade show was not only much bigger than our last visit to Vancouver four years ago but it drew record numbers of participants,' CPMA said in a statement. 'The event combined business and networking opportunities, outstanding keynote speakers and business sessions, numerous awards presentations, great food, entertainment and good times – not to mention the fabulous weather we had.'
The next CPMA event is scheduled to take place in Montréal on 13-15 April 2011.
