Spain's fruit and vegetable exports grew 2 per cent in volume to 1.2m tonnes and 13 per cent in value to €1.1bn for the month of November, according to data processed by Fepex.

Fruit exports climbed 3 per cent in volume to 717, 255 tonnes when compared to the same month of 2014, while jumping 15 per cent in value to €652m.

Fepex highlighted the strong growth in persimon shipments, with the fruit making gains of 18 per cent in both volume (64,231 tonnes) and value (€57m).

Vegetable volumes remained flat at just over 544,000 tonnes, with lettuce and tomato exports relatively stable but cucumbers falling. Vegetable export value came in at €473m, Fepex noted.
