“The positive performance of its NSG 203-Marimbella, NSG 465–Rossetta and NSG 207-Gioelita varieties is generating a notable following in other production areas of the world due to its excellent rusticity, precocity, high quality of fruit and good yields achieved thanks to its high productivity,” the company reported.

“In countries where strawberry production is growing, production companies are demanding information on the positive data that Nova Siri Genetics is achieving in Spain, taking into account that Andalusia and the province of Huelva concentrate the largest red fruit production area in Europe.

“Specifically, the NSG varieties are those that are registering the greatest growth in this area. It should be noted that for the new 2024/25 campaign, Nova Siri Genetics will make available to companies some 150mn strawberry plants, 15 per cent more than the total volume that NSG reached last campaign.”

NSG said it is making good progress on the development of new berry varieties. During the forthcoming campaign, it will carry out tests with Spanish growers of a new strawberry variety for which a patent application has already been submitted in Europe.

“This is a variety that stands out for its excellent characteristics and for a longer shelf-life and conservation of the fruit, two aspects of special value for production companies,” NSG said.
