The US Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service has revealed that autumn potato volumes in the US and Canada dropped 3 per cent from 2012 to 2013.
The North American Potatoes report said that the US produced around 398m cwt of potatoes in Autumn 2013, down 5 per cent, while Canada's volumes decreased 2 per cent to 103m cwt, The Packer reported.
Acreage was down in both the US and Canada, although yields per acre rose in both countries.
