Harnois Greenhouses and Dubois Agrinovation will offer a turnkey solutions combining high tunnel greenhouses and irrigation
Harnois Greenhouses and Dubois Agrinovation have announced a strategic partnership to provide turnkey solutions for open-field and berry producers across Canada and the US.
The companies said that the initiative stemmed from a successful collaboration on a ”significant project” in Quebec, Canada, which led to the installation of 170 TunnelPro Plus greenhouses combined with Dubois’ custom irrigation systems.
Together, they are looking to address the growing needs of producers seeking to protect their open-field crops by offering a solution combining high tunnel greenhouses and tailored irrigation systems for each block.
This new offering, for areas starting at 0.5ha, is designed to improve predictability, increase yields and crop quality, and significantly reduce operating costs.
According to a joint statement, the partnership demonstrates ”a commitment to delivering concrete solutions to producers”.
In Quebec, the joint project increased productivity as early as the first season and significantly reduced operational costs (labour and machinery), the groups noted.
Thanks to crop protection and the precision of the drip irrigation system, producers also observed decreased water consumption and reduced use of crop protection products.
“This strategic partnership with Dubois Agrinovation allows us to provide producers with a turnkey solution adapted to new market demands and the challenges of climate change,” explained Corenthin Chassouant, vice-president of greenhouse sales at Harnois Greenhouses.
”The results achieved through this collaboration show that our high tunnels, combined with precision irrigation, boost yields and improve product quality and predictability.
”Thanks to greenhouse protection, producing earlier and later in the season is also a significant advantage for producers,” said Chassouant.
Martin Charbonneau, vice-president of sales at Dubois Agrinovation, said that by collaborating with Harnois Greenhouses, the companies had combined their expertise to create a concrete offering ”tailored to the market’s new realities”.
”The irrigation systems we provide, combined with the high tunnel greenhouse, allow for optimal resource use and enhanced water management while supporting environmentally conscious agriculture,” he added.
”We are proud to see that our solution delivers real value to producers, as demonstrated by this major project.”
