The concession for the Port of Valparaiso's new Terminal 2 (T2) has come to a halt after the deadline for receiving bids passed without any offers being made, according to Port Strategy.
Of the 18 ports that showed an initial interest in the project, only three pre-qualified, and none of these entered a bid for the Chilean development.
'The port will not stop its development, you need to grow,' said defiant port authority chief executive Harald Jaeger, who said that the authority would take all steps necessary to implement the redevelopment of the port.
