United Fresh

The United Fresh Produce Association has revealed that Nikki Rodoni, director of sustainability at Gills Onions in California, is to chair the advisory board for the United Fresh Foundation's Centre Global Produce Sustainability.

In addition to Rodoni's chairmanship, Greg Storey (executive director for the Centre for Science and Innovation at Clarkson Consulting) and Joel Nelsen (president of California Citrus Mutual) will also join the advisory board as members.

Rodoni represents the advisory board's first chair, with United Fresh vice-president of environmental affairs and sustainability Burleson Smith noting that her leadership would be a key asset for sustainability within the US fresh produce industry.

'Under Nikki's watchful eye, Gill Onions has become an industry leader in sustainability,' said Smith. 'We're excited to work together to help our members and the entire industry make progress on what is a very important issue in sustainability.'
