Asda says it's fully switched over to a new regional transport distribution network that will boost the efficiency of deliveries across the UK.
Overthe last 18 months, Asda has been implementing a new regional distribution structure using Paragon TTS, a transport optimisation and execution system integrated with real-time vehicle tracking, and the retail giant believes the now finished system will reduce operational costs.
A company statement read: 'Combining routing, scheduling and resource optimisation with a sophisticated vehicle tracking and transport execution and management system gives us visibility of the entire operation.'
'Paragon TTS has completely transformed our transport network and is providing significant improvements in the way we plan and manage our resources and in how we plan more than 18,000 store deliveries a week using our 900 strong fleet,' explained Chris Hall, national transport manager at Asda.
