Eric Lagerweij has been appointed product units director at Dutch marketing organisation The Greenery, with immediate effect.
Lagerweij, who was previously sourcing director of The Greenery's import division, Hagé International, will be in charge of directing sales as well as purchasing activities on behalf of the group's various product divisions.
Having started his career in 1988 at Van Dijk Delft, Lagerweij joined The Greenery when it acquired the supplier-exporter.
Since then, he has been engaged in various commercial positions at The Greenery, managing sales to Scandinavia, southern Europe, Russia and central European markets.
He also helped build up The Greenery’s North American sales unit in the early years.
In 2007, Lagerweij was appointed director of Hagé and, following the recent retirement of Eijo Nienhuis, has combined the position with that of sourcing director.
In his new role, he will be responsible for managing purchasing and sales activities within The Greenery's individual product units (field crops, salad vegetables, soft fruit, topfruit and mushrooms) as well as its import activities.
