International fruit and vegetable supplier New Green Overseas is looking for new customers in Asia.
The Netherlands-based firm, which sources fresh produce from around the globe for worldwide importers, wholesalers and retailers, wants to find more clients in China and Japan in particular, New Green’s Marianne van der Gragt told Fruitnet.
Founded in 2012 by three ex-Greenery employees, New Green has seen considerable growth in its business to Asia and wants to capitalise on that by exhibiting at Asia Fruit Logistica, she said.
“Our purpose of participating in Asia Fruit Logistica is to search for new customers and contacts in Asia,” she said.
New Green’s Dutch pepper exports to Japan have risen significantly over the last three years thanks to increasing capsicum consumption in that market. Meanwhile, the firm believes export opportunities abound in China.
“Asia is a growing business for us, we see it in our market figures,” said van der Gragt.
As well as Dutch-grown vegetables, including peppers, tomatoes and radishes, the firm sources produce from around the world.
