Jens Vogler has been appointed as the new director of chilled products at salad and vegetable marketer Bonduelle.
Vogler, who has held a number of marketing positions at high-level companies including Unilever and Danone, said he was excited about the prospect of helping Bonduelle Frische to build the reputation and commercial standing of one of Europe's leading fresh produce brands.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge of this modern and future-oriented category in both branded goods as well as private label, and to delivering further sustainable growth for the market leader with its partners in the spirit of mutual value creation," he commented.
Bonduelle has been active in the German market since 1969, when its first operation in the country was established in Homburg to market produce shipped from its French facilities.
The group's salad sales in Germany have performed well over the past year, showing four quarters of continued growth, according to the company's latest financial report.
Although the company claims these results were "in spite of" a significant slowdown in sales linked to the recent E coli crisis in Germany, some might argue its success over the past year has been underpinned by a resultant increase in consumer demand for brands and, by extension, apparently more trustworthy products.
