The Port of Hamburg Marketing Authority has announced that it has appointed Axel Mattern as its new CEO, a position he has held since 1 June.
The decision was taken during the association's supervisory board meeting on 31 May, meaning that the executive board now consists of speaker Claudia Roller and Mattern, who assumes specific responsibility for the management of customers and projects in the Port of Hamburg's core markets.
A native of Hamburg, Mattern has gained experience in both shipping lines and port operations, and has been working for the Marketing Authority as division head of market development and management since November 2009.
