Hamburg-based fruit import company Port International has announced the appointment of three new members of its import and sales department.
As of this month, Toni Trogrlic has become director at Port International Fruit following the recent retirement of Jochen Kegeler.
Mr Trogrlic takes responsibility for the fruit category as well as development of the company’s sales and product range, suppported by Arndt Gerdey in the imports department and Lothar Ahrens on sales.
Mike Port, the company’s chief executive officer, congratulated Mr Kegeler on 44 successful years working at Port. “We expresses our sincerest thanks and compliment him for all his dedication,” he said. “We will have a drink together with him and all our business partners at our traditional Port dinner during Fruit Logistica in Berlin and use this opportunity to wish him the very best again.”
Port International supplies clients all over Europe with overseas fruit. According to Mr Port, the company can arrange customized offers for each client thanks to its streamlined structure and flexible organisation.
“We offer the whole range of bananas, from conventional fruit to organic and Fairtrade bananas,” says Mr Port. “Moreover, each client has the possibility to choose from several packaging varieties and multiple origins in order to find the optimum for his requirements.
“Our focus for the fruit segment remains the year-round delivery of our overseas range of apples, grapes, pineapple, mangoes, kiwifruit, citrus and other fruits for our clients. In this area we will also keep on demonstrating our expertise in the organic and Fairtrade segment.”
