The Produce Marketing Association (PMA)’s Chile Country Council has appointed Miguel Allamand, president of Subsole, as its new chairman to replace outgoing Víctor Moller of Hortifrut, according to a report by Fresh Fruit Portal.
In addition, Isaac Bon, presidentof Compañía Frutera del Norte (CFN), has been appointed vice-chairman of the organisation, which was the first PMA Country Council to be set up in South America.
Other new members include Brice Lamarque, the technical manager of UK retailer Tesco’s local hub in Chile, and Jorge Echenique, general manager Last Land Farms.
The appointments were announced last week during a members’ meeting in Santiago, Chile, in which Allamand urged Chilean suppliers to focus on delivering value.
“We will work together to help the industry harness the enormous potential and tools of the PMA to help them manage and overcome the challenges and opportunities in our industry, drawing on the different experiences of our businesses and areas of work,” he said.
