Damco has announced the appointment of Remo Eigenmann as its new head of airfreight, in a bid to strengthen its solutions is this area of the business.
In the role, Mr Eigenmann's first task will be to advance the group's airfreight product as the preferred choice to any company that needs to take advantage of the speed of air due to short product life cycles, commodities' physical longevity and unforeseen stock-outs, where shortest time to market is a must.
'At Damco, we want to enhance customers' experience of airfreight and build our capabilities significantly, penetrating into geographies and industry verticals where we have minimal or no airfreight presence – but where customers require us to be,' said Mr Eigenmann.
'We see a great need for our airfreight product among our present and potential customers, both as a stand-alone solution but also as a key component in individually tailored multi-modal setups, complementing other forwarding and supply chain services,' he added. 'We will achieve our ambitions by identifying and taking on seasoned experts that can help us get to where we want to be and deliver what our customers require.'
