Nergi

Nergi kiwiberries will be popping up in stores in France, Germany, Benelux and the UK in October and November this year, as well as on social media sites, as the brand seeks to tap into the healthy snacking category.

On Facebook, Nergi fans in France will be able to win various prizes, including an electric bike, by being the quickest to find Nergi in an image packed with colourful items.

On Youtube, short videos play on the idea of Nergi's rarity, advising consumers that they're 'not like little rabbits' and are 'not to be missed'.

However, volumes of the fruit, which is grown predominantly in France and the Netherlands and marketed by Prim'land and Fruitworld, are set to increase this coming season, and a programme of events and tastings in stores in and around Paris has been planned for October.

Nergi kiwiberries are produced using sustainable production methods and harvested by hand, says the company's Jean Pierre Caruel, while the fruit benefits from a long shelf-life of around three months, compared with barely one month for traditional kiwiberry varieties.
