Dutch technology provider Nawi has introduced a new line of packhouse sorting machinery for fresh-cut vegetables which, it says, can handle and sort up to 3,000 cartons of product per hour, increasing processing times and efficiency.
According to the company, the sorting system enables processors to supply their products to buyers even quicker than before, while also saving them money by reducing the number of staff required.
'Within the fresh fruit and vegetable sector there is demand for logistics solutions that not only increase throughput, but can also take on heavier loads and be installed in areas where hygiene is essential,' commented Nawi commercial director Alfred Klunder.
'Alongside our Aorta concept for carrying crates into and out of packhouses, this new sorting line is keeping us in line with market demand.'
