Germany-based discounter Aldi has announced that Theo Albrecht, one of its co-founders, has passed away at the age of 88. Mr Albrecht built the retailer with his elder brother Karl, and was at the time of his death the second-richest man in Germany worth an estimated €17bn.
Spanish fresh produce exporter Group Hortiberia has announced that its head of fresh products, Salvador Ferrer Soria, has passed away. Mr Ferrer, who was aged 50, died on 17 July in his native city of Picassent in Spain’s Valencia region.
