Arnold Reijers has stepped down as commercial director of Dutch vegetable producer organisation FresQ. The group did not provide any further information about his departure, although eurofruit understands that Reijers made the decision to leave due to differences over the organisation’s future direction. FresQ director Jan de Boer and its head of external affairs Jacco Vooijs are expected to cover the vacant position between them while the search for a replacement goes ahead.
Kai Sieberth, joint managing director of leading German importer Cobana Fruchtring, has left the company, it has been confirmed. Sieberth, who was the company’s banana and pineapple expert and for many years the right-hand man of group managing director Jürgen Boruszewski, is understood to have departed Cobana at the end of August.
Hans de Boer, a former commercial director at Heemskerk Fresh Convenience, has been named as the new managing director of Olympic Fruit. The appointment leaves former incumbent Thijs van den Heuvel to concentrate on leading Olympic Fruit’s parent company, Olympic Food Group as CEO.
Club apple group the Rubens Consortium has elected Stefan Moje of German apple producer Elbe-Obst as its new president and Andy Sadler, managing director of Norman Collett as its vice-president.
Michael Huber has been appointed as managing director of Bio Austria, the association of Austrian organic producers. A qualified social economist, Huber has held a number of management positions, including steel company Voestalpine and paper manufacturer Delfortgroup.
The commercial director of The Greenery, Bart Merkus, has left the company after less than eight months in the job, it has been reported. “In consultation with the supervisory board it was decided that the employment would be terminated,” a spokesperson for the company told Dutch magazine Groenten & Fruit.
Lianne Jones, former European field manager for the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association, has left her current role as head of European marketing for perishables logistics provider Damco.
