Leading fresh produce company Univeg has announced that Theo de Kool has taken up the role of chief executive officer, replacing Rudi De Becker, who is retiring from the business. De Kool joined Univeg back in March 2010 as its chief financial officer and also executive member of the group's board of directors. Meanwhile, Univeg has also announced that Francis Kint, currently CEO of the group's fruit and vegetables business unit, has been appointed as an executive member of Univeg's board.

International kiwifruit marketer Zespri has revealed two major changes to its senior management structure in Europe. In a letter addressed to all of its customers, the company confirmed that Bert Barmans has taken over from Luc Clerx as general manager of Zespri International Europe & Middle East, Indian Ocean and Africa. Mr Clerx, meanwhile, has been appointed as director of Zespri Europe, and will focus on strategy and external affairs, as well as providing advice and support to the organisation.

Turners & Growers chairman Tony Gibbs will not stand for re-election at the company’s upcoming AGM on 30 June, the company has announced, having served as chairman and director of Turners & Growers for 16 years. Meanwhile, Rob Campbell will take over the reins at T&G owner Guinness Peat Group after change-manager Mark Johnson stepped down.

Peruvian fresh produce giant Camposol has announced in a press release the resignation of its chief commercial officer Michael Horney, who has confirmed he is leaving to pursue personal projects.

Davide Vernocchi has been named as the new president of Italian group Apo Conerpo, Europe’s largest fresh fruit and vegetable producer organisation, after the company's board voted unanimously in favour of his appointment.
