Moroccan ship-owner International Maritime Transport Corporation (IMTC) and Netherlands-based logistics company DailyFresh are set to join forces in a bid to meet the growing demand for seafreight from Moroccan producers and European importers.
The new venture will offer a global container service from packing stations in the Souss area to markets in northern Europe. Collection at packhouses is performed from a depot in Ait Melloul, with container ships departing weekly from Agadir and reaching Dunkirk after 4 days.
“On customers’ request, containers could be either delivered straight from the terminal to the nearest destinations, or offloaded and consolidated in 26 pallet trailers, as a cost-effective and environmental option,” the groups said in a statement.
The move follows the success of a door-to-door service to Perpignan and Chateaurenard in southern France.
