Mexican same-store retail sales dropped 0.1 per cent in November when compared with the previous year, according to retail association Antad, a result that has been attributed to there being one fewer Sunday in the period.
Total sales at Antad's 19,046 member establishments increased by 5.4 per cent to US$6.03bn, the association revealed in a press release.
Same-store sales at both supermarkets and department stores dropped 0.4 per cent, while those at specialty retailers climbed 2.1 per cent.
During the first 11 months of the year, Antad's same-store sales grew 3.3 per cent when compared with the same period of 2009, while total sales increased by 9 per cent to US$64bn.
