Company to expand Sunset production with strategic acquisition of local greenhouses

Canada’s Mastronardi Produce has announced the addition of almost 40ha of Canadian greenhouse capacity to enable it to expand its production of Sunset-branded produce.

The family-owned company has built a state-of-the-art 11ha glass greenhouse facility in Kingsville, Ontario which will provide lit production in the winter of local Sunset branded produce.

In addition to this greenhouse, Mastronardi Produce will serve as the exclusive long-term marketer for two additional facilities: a 13ha facility in Kingsville owned by JC Fresh Farms and a 13ha site in Leamington owned by Orangeline Farms.

The new glass greenhouse facility, completed in 2020, empoys advanced technology and lighting to optimise growing conditions.
