Martinavarro hopes to increase production by 125,000 tonnes after buying a factory in Cartaya, Huelva that was owned by Citroluz, a firm that closed down two years ago, according Spanish news agency EFE.
Martinavarro, a Valencia-based citrus supplier, apparently believes a connection between Rotterdam and a fruit terminal in Huelva is essential to its business.
Supermarket chains across Europe are recipients of Martinavarro's produce, including the UK's Marks & Spencer.
