Fresh produce industry veteran Mark Lewis has returned to his post of executive vice-president at citrus company Seald Sweet, following an 18-month leave of absence for medical reasons.

Lewis was first appointed to his position in August 2008, with his primary role to develop Seald Sweet’s deciduous import programmes given his accreditations in building and growing several extremely successful domestic and import programmes worldwide.

After taking a leave of absence from the company in mid-2011, he resumed his appointment effective from 1 November.

“We are very excited to have Mark back on our team,” Mayda Sotomayor, chief executive of Seald Sweet, said in a company media release.

“His experience and tenure in the industry has always been considered an asset to our organisation and his return to our team will help us further achieve our growth objectives.”

Speaking about his plans and strategies for the company, Lewis drew on Seald Sweet’s strong history in paving the way for the future.

“We will leverage our global presence, marketing expertise and over 100 years of business success to add value to all of our trading partners,” he said.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a great company.”

Seald Sweet’s media release expressed confidence in Lewis’ ongoing capacity to use his expertise to compliment and strengthen the company’s global growth.
