Mango imports into the US rose by 20 per cent last week to approximately 877,272 cartons, according to the latest report from the National Mango Board (NMB).
Brazil sent roughly 238,392 cartons to the US market last week, which was 40 per cent down on the previous week.
Meanwhile, Ecuador sent around 638,880 cartons, representing approximately 89 per cent more than the prior week.
Brazil expects to send 45,000 cartons of mangoes to the US this year, the report said.
Brazil’s season began during the first half of August and will end in early November. Total volume is expected to be approximately 6.3m cartons, according to NMB.
Ecuador’s season began shortly after in early October and will run through mid January.
High volume is expected from Ecuador between November and mid December, and the overall volume is forecast to reach around 7.2m cartons.
