The US National Mango Board has recorded an increase in mango arrivals from Latin America compared with original expectations.
Volume shipped last week (week ending 30 April) reached approximately 2.7m cartons representing almost the same amount as the previous week and up on initial estimates of just over 2m cartons.
The fruit was sourced from Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Haiti, according to NMB.
Mexico sent approximately 2.1m cartons of mangoes to the US last week, up 7 per cent on the previous week.
NMB said estimated volume from Mexico for this week and next week is 2m cartons.
