Ahead of its move from Copenhagen in Denmark to The Hague in the Netherlands, Damco has announced that it is making a number of changes to its senior management.
Steffen Schiottz-Christensen has moved to the position of CEO for Damco’s Africa and Middle East region, which was effective as of December 1 2012, having spent more than ten years in China.
Schiottz-Christensenwill be based in Cape Town and succeeds Nils Havsager, who has moved to a position as global COO, where he succeeds Peter Kjaer Jensen.
Meanwhile, Kjaer Jensen will transition from the global COO role into the position of global CTO (Chief Transformation Officer), which includes the responsibility for all IT projects.
Elsewhere, global head of HR Karsten Breum has taken over the role as CEO for Damco’s Asia Pacific region from Tony Hotine, and will be based in Singapore.
Marco Mingolla, who previously held the role as head of HR operations within Maersk Line, has taken over Breum’s position effective 1 January.
