A number of leading Spanish and international fresh produce companies have confirmed their participation in Madrid-based trade fair Fruit Attraction, which will be staged for a second time this October in the Spanish capital.
Leading names from Spain’s fruit and vegetable sector, including Anecoop, Bonnysa, SAT Royal, Frutaria, Grupo Paloma and Grupo Iberica are set to take part in the event, which will be held from 20-22 October in the Fería de Madrid conference centre.
The trade fair, which is organised by Spanish federation Fepex and exhibition specialist Ifema, is also attracting international companies, with France’s Florette, Vip Val Venosta from Italy and Colombia’s Banacol among the confirmed exhibitors for Fruit Attraction.
Several major service companies including Dow Agrosciences, Bayer CropScience, Dupont, Syngenta and Cajamar are also set to be present among the 400 businesses that are expected exhibit at the 2010 show.
Among the firms that have confirmed their presence at Fruit Attraction will be exporters from Spain’s principal production areas of Andalusia, Murcia, Extremadura, the Canary Island, Catalonia, La Rioja, Aragón, Madrid, Castilla La Mancha and Galicia.
Moreover, the second edition of the trade show will be welcoming regions not involved in the first year such as Castilla-León, Navarra, the Basque Country and Valencia, which organisers described as a “significant boost to the trade show”.
International companies from Argentina, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and the UK are also expected to take part in this year’s event.
According to Fepex figures, Spain has confirmed its place as the world’s leading fruit and vegetable exporter followed by the US and the Netherlands, with Spanish exports of fresh fruit and vegetables worth more than €2,600m in the first quarter of 2010.
