Russian retail chain Magnit has announced that its sales for 2011 climbed by 42.12 per cent in rouble terms on the previous year.
Group sales came to R335.6bn (€8.2bn), or up 46.9 per cent in dollar terms to US$11.4bn, the group said, although this missed its initial roubles forecast 43-48 per cent, Reuters reported.
Like-for-like sales jumped 11.1 per cent through the year, Magnit reported.
Magnit opened 1,254 outlets in the country throughout the year, including 286 in December alone, when group sales increased by 34.1 per cent on the previous year.
