International shipping giant Maersk Line has revealed that it is to cut its Andean service between Chile, Peru and Northwest Europe, with the last vessels on the service set to sail later this month.
The Danish group revealed that the last vessel from Latin America bound for Northern Europe would leave San Antonio on 20 May and Callao on 23 May, while the final service to Latin America from Northern Europe will leave Rotterdam on 23 May.
However, Maersk confirmed that the Andean nations would continue to be served with vessels via Balboa, Panama, with a direct service from Santa Marta continuing but with improved transit times.
Meanwhile, cargo from Northern Europe to the Colombian corridor will be served by transhipment services located in Manzanillo, Panama.
