Maersk is to return to the Port of Buenos Aires in April with a direct shipping route from Argentina to Europe, according to a report by Argentinean publication Megatrade Magazine.
The service, which until now has docked in Montevideo, Uruguay, will also call at the Port of Bahía Blanca in the state of Buenos Aires.
The return to the Argentinean capital forms part of Maersk’s strategy to consolidate its position in the reefer trade, according to company directors.
In a separate move, Maersk will also call at the Port of Zárate in the northeast of Buenos Aires state on its Intra-American service.
