Shipping giant Maersk Line has announced it will increase rates for cargo departing India for destinations in Northern Europe and the Middle East.
The price increase on all cargo will be US$200 per TEU and US$400 per FEU.
“While we are continuously endeavouring toward serving customers to the best of our capabilities, prevailing rates are proving to be difficult to sustain, especially in the current market scenario,” the Danish carrier said in a media release.
Earlier this month Maersk announced it would also hike rates on cargo moving from some parts of Asia to Australia, South Africa and the east coast of South America.
