Maersk Line has announced the re-introduction ofits CRX service, the weekly liner service connecting Mexico and Costa Rica directly with UK, Netherlands and Germany.
According to the shipping line, the CRX and the Ecubex services have been merged since mid-2011, with Maersk Line now separating the two services and confirming the CRX as a standalone service from January 2012 onwards.
The service will provide very competitive transit times and direct port coverage for the shippers of fresh fruit from Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama into North Europe.
Meanwhile, it will also connectTilbury, Rotterdam and Bremerhaven with Veracruz and Altamira in Mexico in theonly direct dedicated service in the trade, connecting Bremerhaven with Veracruz in only 13 days.
The fruits loaded at Puerto Moin in Costa Rica will reach Tilbury and Rotterdam in 13 and 15 days respectively.
In Manzanillo, Panama, the service will connect with the Maersk Line feeder coverage, ensuring competitive transit times to/from the rest of Central America and the Caribbean.
The service will deploysix 2,500 TEU vessels with a rotation of Bremerhaven, Veracruz, Altamira, Big Creek, Manzanillo, Puerto Moin, Cork, Tilbury, Rotterdam and Bremerhaven.
The first southbound sailing is the Frisia Rotterdam from Bremerhaven on 15 December 2011,while the first northbound sailing is from Veracruz on 29 December with the same vessel.
