Shipping group Maersk Israel last week announced the introduction of two new shipping services from Ashdod, Israel, to Russia and Turkey.
The new service to and from the port of Novorossiysk, in Russia, will deploy a TEU 900 vessel with a transit time of five days.
The service to and from the Russian port will begin in October, according to managing director Steve Felder, with weekly deliveries each Wednesday.
The new direct service to and from Turkey will have the fastest transit time on the market, according to Port2Port, with two TEU 1,200 vessels delivering to and from the ports of Amberly (in two days), Izmit (in three days) and Haydarpasa (in four days).?
Mr Felder said that the new service would help the company to increase its market share in the Israeli market.
