Shipping giant Maersk Line is to raise rates on services linking India to Europe and the Middle East next month.
Rates will increase by US$250 for both 20-ft (TEU) and 40-ft equivalent units (FEU) on cargo leaving India. The increases will become effective as of 1 July.
Cargo travelling from Europe and the Middle East to India will see rates increased by US$200 per TEU and US$300 per FEU. These changes will also take effect on 1 July.
“In order to continue offering our broad portfolio of services and high level of reliability it will be necessary for us to implement a number of general rate increases,” Maersk said.
