Germany-based Lufthansa Cargo has announced that it will operate its first all-freighter service to Israel from 28 October, connecting Tel Aviv with Frankfurt.
TheMD-11 freighter service from Frankfurt will depart in the evening on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays and in the late morning on Fridays. Thereturn flight will be operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays via Istanbul. Friday is the only day on which a non-stop service from Tel Aviv to Frankfurt will be operated.
Lufthansa Cargo said that with the new service, it is significantly expanding its presence in the Israeli market.
'Never before have customers had such a large choice of flights,' the group said. 'This winter, in addition to the freighter flights operated by Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines will offer 37 flights a week to their hubs at Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna, as well as to Düsseldorf andBerlin. The Group airline Swiss will operate 14 flights a week from TelAviv to Zurich.'
