Lufthansa Cargo has announced that it is offering customers a greater number of options for the transportation of temperature-sensitive airfreight, with the addition of the latest range of cooling containers to its portfolio.

Presented for the first time in Frankfurt, Germany on 24 August, the opticooler containers have been developed jointly with cargo equipment manufacturer Dokasch, combining innovative technology with optimum reliability and maximum transport quality.

'Business with temperature-sensitive freight has grown strongly in defiance even with the global economic crisis in 2009,' said Dr Andreas Otto, Lufthansa board member for product and sales. 'We aim to continue that growth trend and increase our market shares. We have for that very reason invested in new technologies.'

Lufthansa completed the test phase with the containers in August, meaning the opticooler range is now available for use on all routes across the German group's international network.
