In the UK, Len Wright Salads has announced that it has chosen the Posie Packer poly bag labelling machine to apply the required labels to the wicketed produce bags used for its hothouse lettuce, curly lettuce and celery.
'The key feature that appealed to us' said Ian Torley managing director, 'was the ability of the machine to apply two labels on the same cycle – significantly cutting our labour costs of applying the mandated labels.
'Although, the machine is imported from Canada, sales and service support are available through LC Machinery, our local dealer for agricultural machinery, NP Seymour, the importing agent and distributor, and from Posie Packer, the manufacturer,' Torley added. 'At the installation and training session for this machine, I realised that the machine is also user serviceable, should that be required.'
And John Vandergrift of Candian manufacturer Posie Packer said: 'I am pleased to see that the machine is being used in the vegetable sector of the British produce industry as well as in the top fruit sector.
'Having the support of LC Machinery and NP Seymour were critical in making this sale possible,' he added. 'Time sensitive information labels on produce poly bags meet the need for food safety and product traceability in the UK, and the produce bag labelling machine offers a cost-effective accurate alternative to manual application of these time sensitive information labels as well as the promotional labels.'
