Growers in Seville and Castellon had the opportunity to visit local production sites to learn all about the mandarin variety
More than 100 growers attended two open days organised by the managers of the Leanri mandarin variety in Seville and Castellón recently, where they had the opportunity to learn about the variety’s production processes.
The Muñoz Cabello brothers hosted one of the events at their El Marjal de San Cristóbal farm in Burguillos, while the other was held at Viveros Alcanar in San Rafael del Río. Both were reported to have been a “resounding success”.
“These sessions were very enriching, as they allowed for the sharing of advice on the management of the variety and experiences in its cultivation, encouraging the exchange of knowledge among all participants,” the organiser said.
“Leanri is not just a mandarin, but a safe bet for producers, marketers and consumers. In full growth, this protected variety already has more than 3,000ha planted and a production limit set at 4,000ha.”
The open days were part of an extensive marketing strategy aimed at positioning Leanri in the market and strengthening its commitment to farmers.
“The Leanri mandarin is revolutionising the sector with its unique proposition: exceptional flavour, crunchy texture and an extraordinary size. In short, Leanri continues to actively communicate in order to consolidate itself as a benchmark in the sector and strengthen its commitment to farmers,” the organisers said.
