Logistics partners LCL and Broom Logistics have revealed they are in the final stage of preparations to break ground on three major coldstorage and packing operations in Latin America.
The developments include an expansion of its current capacity in Ovalle, Chile, as well as a brand new coldstorage facility due to be built in Vicuña.
According to the group, the latter will support local growers and exporters wanting to store and ship mainly grapes and citrus, and will function as a buffer to its existing packing line in the region.
In Olmos, Peru, meanwhile, Broom Logistics said it had acquired land to build what is, so far, its largest coldstorage and packing operation anywhere in the world.
The centre will be strategically situated in Morrope, connecting directly to the Pan-American Highway via Paita, Salaverry and Callao.
With company representatives from countries including South Africa, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, the US and the Netherlands all due to attend this year’s event, LCL and Broom Logistics are also set to unveil a newly launched LCL App, which allows customers to track and trace cargo as well as review associated documents.
“Our app has already received high scores from our external users and we invite all to come along to learn more about the next phase of the global roll-out,” the group said in a statement.
