Logistics service provider LBP Rotterdam has announced that it has passed its most recent audit covering a number of key certifications, garnering an impressive score of 98.5 per cent in the process.
The Dutch group, based at Maasdijk, has been awarded certification for BRC and ILS higher level, guaranteeing food safety at LBP until the next audit, The company confirmed.
In addition, LBP has chosen to increase its focus on value-added logistics– not only as an extension of the existing business, but as something that it feels will play a crucial role in the future of the organisation.
'Of course, the logistics that we have been doing for the past 20 years will always be the starting point of our services, because we are good at it,' explained LBP's Anton Filippo. 'But, adjacent to this, the demand for sorting, packing, repacking and small packaging has become so big that we have installed ourselves in such a way that we can fulfill demand to a large extent.
'That was one of the reasons we decided to adapt and the building of the new development has already started.
'Closing your eyes to what the market is asking for would be very unwise,' Filippo added. 'With our team of professionals we have made the decision to take these steps to guarantee the future of our company.'
