Larry Lipman

Larry Lipman, chief executive officer of the Lipman Family of Companies (LFC) and a key player in the growth of the organisation over recent years, has confirmed that he is retiring from the group.

Mr Lipman has worked at the US-based fresh produce grower and supplier for 50 years, rising through the ranks before taking up the position of CEO in 1994, and has helped propel LFC to a position of national prominence, boasting around 6,500ha of production across 10 states and Mexico, seven packaging facilities and a group-owned R&D greenhouse.

'I'm proud to have worked for one of the finest fresh produce companies in the country,' said Mr Lipman. 'Over my years, I have seen our company transform from a regional tomato grower to a national leader in tomato and vegetable production and packing. While I had a role in this evolution and success of the company, we truly would not be where we are today had I not had such a talented group of people working with me at LFC.'

Toby Purse, the current chief financial officer, will take over as interim CEO while the group searches for a full-time successor.

'While our search for a permanent CEO continues, I am confident that I am leaving LFC in good hands,' Mr Lipman added. 'I have no doubt Toby will do a terrific job of working with the LFC family and continuing our tradition of success.'
