Landgard

Leading German fruit and vegetable company Landgard is planning to merge with Leverkusen-based importer and ripener Walter Pott Fruchtimport, the company has announced.

According to the group, the proposed merger would enable the two organisations to develop strong relationships with customers in Germany and Europe as a whole.

'With Landgard's expertise of sourcing regional fruit and vegetables and Walter Pott's complementary global procurement capabilities, both companies can offer a full range of fruit and vegetables – as well as associated services – to the German and neighbouring European retail sector,' a spokesperson for Landgard said.

'Landgard and Walter Pott offer everything under one roof and excellent service in the fresh produce market,' the spokesperson added.

'Through this acquisition, both will combine their expertise to develop the retail market further as a full-service fresh produce supplier.'

The two entities will continue to work with existing customers as before.
