The Peruvian region of Lambayeque has seen a year-on-year drop in fresh mango exports during the first quarter of 2012, according to new information released by the research and information unit of AREX Lambayeque.
Figures released by the body and reported by agraria.pe showed that export volumes fell 71.5 per cent on the same period of 2011, coming in at around 175,000 tonnes.
Exports from the region reached some US$1.9m in value terms, down considerably from the US$4.1m they brought in last year.
The Netherlands lead the way in terms of imports, taking on 31 per cent of the total value, followed by the US (21 per cent), Japan (14 per cent), France (11 per cent) and the UK (9 per cent).
