Mexico Supreme Quality (Mexico Calidad Suprema or MSQ) has appointed global food safety expert Gale Prince to its MSQ Ambassadors Advisory Board,

Mr Prince previously headed the food safety programme at The Kroger Co. – the leading supermarket in the US.

“We are extremely pleased and privileged to have a leader in global food safety among the industry members who serve on the Mexico Calidad Suprema Advisory Board,” MSQ general manager Liz Quintero.

“Mr Prince is a respected professional with over 40 years experience in food safety in food manufacturing and retail operations. Considered a pioneer in the food safety industry,he started his career in 1967at the Jewel Companies (Chicago). He is also widely known for his involvement in industry and regulatory activities, and has been called “The Dean” of product recalls after having managed several thousand in his career.

“A few months ago we introduced Mr Prince to our programme, and he saw its merits. His knowledgeof ensuring compliance with food safety regulatory requirements will be of critical benefit as MSQ expands and refines its programme, as well as prepares for pending US food safety legislation.”

Mr Prince, who joins other respectedindustry leaders as MSQ Ambassadors serving on the MSQ Advisory Board during 2010, will represent the interests of retailers.
